RICS Homebuyer Surveys & Valuations

|
A report in a concise, standard format, designed by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
as an economy service, intended for properties which are:
- conventional in type and construction
- in apparently reasonable condition
It focuses on essentials: defects and problems which are urgent or significant and have an effect
on value. Its purpose is to enable a purchaser to make a reasoned and informed judgement on
whether or not to proceed with a purchase, by assisting in identifying what decisions and actions
should be taken before entering into a contract. The Homebuyer Survey includes market and
insurance valuations.
The Homebuyer Survey is not normally considered suitable for properties which are older and/or
Listed, of unusual construction, extensively altered or extended, dilapidated, where a major
conversion or renovation is planned, or where the property is deemed to have obvious or identified
structural problems.
When carrying out a Homebuyer Survey, our valuations are often accepted by mortgage lenders. We
charge nothing extra for providing this service, which can make a detailed survey an even more
economical option.
